Terms of Service
Effective Date: April 7, 2026 · Last Updated: April 7, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the StudenTeam mobile application ("App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using StudenTeam, you confirm that:
- You are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country).
- You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
- If you are using the App on behalf of an institution or organization, you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Description of the Service
StudenTeam provides tools for personal academic organization and optional community features, including:
2.1 Academic organizer features
- Managing courses (name, code, credits, semester, grades, colors).
- Tracking exams (date, time, location/room, notes).
- Managing assignments (title, due date, status, course association).
- Recording grades (components, weights, scores, dates, weighted averages).
- Scheduling weekly schedule slots and personal events with optional text-based location fields (classroom/building names, not GPS).
- Tracking study sessions (duration, mode, course links).
- Gamification features (streaks, points, levels, achievements) to motivate learning.
- Creating practice questions and study content (where available).
2.2 Community and social features
- Participating in subject-based forums organized by academic subjects and courses.
- Publishing and viewing forum posts (questions, tips, summaries, resources, discussions) with text, images (PNG/JPG/GIF), and file attachments (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Posting replies to forum threads with optional file attachments.
- Reporting inappropriate content (posts, replies, reviews) for moderation.
- Subscribing to forum threads for reply notifications.
- Viewing tutor reviews and writing reviews for tutors (if you are a student).
2.3 Private tutor marketplace
- Browsing private tutor listings — informational posts by tutors offering teaching services, including subject, teaching mode (in-person/online), hourly rate in NIS, and optional CV/certification documents.
- Publishing tutor listings (if you register as a private tutor) with descriptive text, pricing, and attachments.
- Viewing tutor profiles with reviews, ratings, uploaded documents, and contact options.
- Connecting with tutors via in-app direct messaging to discuss lesson arrangements.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: StudenTeam does not employ tutors, verify credentials as an authority, guarantee results, conduct background checks, or endorse any user. Listings are informational only. You are solely responsible for vetting tutors or students, verifying qualifications, and for any agreements, payments, meetings, or disputes. Use caution when sharing contact details or meeting in person.
2.4 Private direct messaging
- One-to-one conversations with other users (text, images, file attachments).
- Blocking users to prevent them from messaging you.
- Deleting conversations and their message history.
- Optional link to a related forum post when starting a conversation from a listing or post.
Privacy note: Direct messages are intended to be private between you and the conversation participant, but see Section 6.5 regarding reported content and legal process.
2.5 Tutor session coordination (scheduling tool)
- Proposing lesson times between students and tutors (date, time, duration, hourly rate in NIS).
- Confirming, rescheduling, or cancelling session proposals.
- Viewing session booking history and status (pending, confirmed, cancelled, completed).
- Displaying estimated revenue calculations for tutors (UI-only, informational).
This feature is for coordination and scheduling only; the App does not process payments for lessons. All financial arrangements, meetings, contracts, and legal relationships are solely between you and the other party outside the App (see Section 6.4).
2.6 Bug reporting and support
- Submitting bug reports from the App with free-text descriptions to help us diagnose issues.
- Rate-limited server-side and client-side to prevent abuse.
The App is provided for personal, non-commercial educational use unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.
No in-app payments: StudenTeam does not process payments for lessons, tutor services, or any transactions inside the App. Any fees, meetings, or contracts are solely between you and the other party outside the App. Display of rates or prices in listings or scheduling flows is informational and does not create a payment obligation processed by us.
3. Account registration
3.1 Creating an account
You may register using an email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In, as offered in the App. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and current information.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials (where applicable).
- All activity that occurs under your account.
3.2 Account security
Notify us immediately at Orikal3107@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your credentials.
3.3 One account per person
Each user may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts for deceptive, abusive, or evasive purposes is prohibited.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You must not:
4.1 Prohibited conduct
- Violate applicable laws or regulations (including those in Israel and your own jurisdiction).
- Harass, threaten, defame, discriminate, bully, or harm others (including through forum posts, replies, listings, direct messages, reviews, or session coordination).
- Post or send unlawful, infringing, hateful, sexually explicit (especially involving minors), violent, or otherwise objectionable content.
- Share academic work in a way that violates academic integrity rules of your institution or facilitates cheating (e.g., selling exam solutions, uploading copyrighted course materials without permission).
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation, credentials, or qualifications (especially in tutor listings).
- Spam or send unsolicited commercial messages, advertisements, or promotional content through forum posts or direct messages.
- Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code designed to disrupt the service or harm other users.
- Attempt unauthorized access to the App, other users' private data, our infrastructure, or admin-only features.
- Circumvent security measures, moderation, suspensions, blocks, or technical limits (e.g., creating multiple accounts to evade bans).
- Use bots, scrapers, automated scripts, or tools to access the service without our prior written consent.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except where mandatory law allows.
- Abuse reporting systems by submitting false or malicious reports.
- Upload excessively large files or content designed to consume storage or bandwidth unfairly.
4.2 Forum and marketplace conduct
- Do not post sensitive personal information (your own or others') in forum posts, replies, or listings unless you intend it to be publicly visible. Remember that forum files are stored in public storage buckets accessible via direct URLs.
- Do not misrepresent tutor credentials — if you publish a tutor listing, ensure your qualifications, experience, and documents are truthful and accurate.
- Do not post copyrighted materials without permission (e.g., textbook scans, lecture recordings, proprietary course content owned by your institution or professors).
- Respect academic integrity — do not request or provide solutions to graded assignments, exams, or projects in a way that violates your institution's honor code.
4.3 Direct messaging conduct
- Do not send unsolicited commercial messages (spam) via direct messages.
- Respect blocking — if another user blocks you, do not attempt to contact them through alternative accounts or means.
- Do not share others' direct messages publicly without consent.
- Remember files are public — attachments you send in direct messages are stored in public storage buckets. Do not send sensitive documents (ID scans, financial info, passwords) via DM attachments.
4.4 Tutor marketplace conduct
- Students: Vet tutors carefully. We do not verify credentials, conduct background checks, or guarantee tutor qualifications. Meet in public places if meeting in person.
- Tutors: Be honest about your qualifications, experience, and availability. Do not misrepresent credentials or make false promises about results.
- Both parties: Any agreements, payments, meetings, or disputes related to tutoring arrangements are solely between you and the other party outside the App. We are not a party to these arrangements.
5. User content & license
5.1 Your content
Organizer data (courses, grades, private notes, etc.) belongs to you. Forum posts, replies, attachments, tutor listings, direct messages you send, and content you submit in scheduling flows are "User Content."
5.2 License to us
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your User Content solely to operate, improve, secure, and promote the App and its features (including showing your posts to other users as designed, delivering messages to your conversation partner, and operating scheduling tools).
5.3 Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of posting or sending it. We do not pre-screen all content but may moderate as described in Section 6.
5.4 Representations
You represent that you have the rights to submit your User Content and that it does not violate these Terms or third-party rights (including copyright and privacy).
6. Community features, moderation & reports
6.1 Public visibility and storage
- Forum posts and replies you publish are visible to other App users according to the feature design (organized by subject, course, post type, etc.).
- Tutor marketplace listings and tutor profiles (including reviews, ratings, uploaded CV/certifications) are visible to other users browsing the marketplace.
- Files uploaded to forum, tutor documents, and direct message attachments are stored in Supabase Storage public buckets with world-readable access policies. This means anyone with the direct URL can view or download these files, even if they are not logged into the App.
- Do not upload sensitive personal information (ID scans, financial documents, passwords, medical records, etc.) unless you intend them to be publicly accessible.
- We are not responsible for unauthorized access to or distribution of files you upload to public storage, or for consequences resulting from your choice to publish content.
6.2 Moderation
We reserve the right to remove, edit, blur, or restrict content, or suspend or terminate accounts, at our discretion if we reasonably believe there is:
- A violation of these Terms or our Privacy Policy.
- Legal risk, copyright infringement, or unlawful content.
- Harm to users, the service, or third parties.
- Abuse, harassment, spam, or malicious behavior.
Moderation tools we may use:
- Automated moderation — Optional server-side checks using OpenAI's Moderation API (for text) and Hugging Face models (for images) to detect policy violations. These are fail-open systems; if unavailable, content is still published.
- User reports — Reports submitted by users are reviewed by app administrators (
profiles.is_app_admin=true). We may take action based on reports, but we do not guarantee specific outcomes or timelines.
- Manual review — Administrators can view reported content, user profiles, and moderation metadata (warning counts, blocked status) in admin screens.
- Automated enforcement — The
forum_submit_report RPC may automatically remove content and increment forum warning counts (profiles.forum_warning_count) when report thresholds are met. Users who accumulate warnings or are forum-blocked (profiles.forum_blocked_at is set) cannot participate in the forum or publish new content.
We do not pre-screen all content before publication. You are responsible for what you post.
6.3 Reporting
The App provides in-app reporting mechanisms for:
- Forum posts and replies — Tap "Report" to submit a concern about inappropriate content.
- Tutor reviews — Report reviews that are false, abusive, or violate Terms.
- Direct messages — Report messages sent to you that violate Terms (reviewed by admins).
What happens when you report:
- Your report is stored in our database (
forum_reports, tutor_review_reports) with your user ID, the reported content ID, reason, and timestamp.
- Reports are accessible only to app administrators and service-role API access (not visible to other users).
- We will review reports in a reasonable timeframe but do not guarantee specific outcomes, response times, or notifications for every report.
- Duplicate reports are prevented by client-side caching (AsyncStorage tracks which content you have already reported).
- False or malicious reports may result in action against your account.
6.4 Private tutor marketplace disclaimer
Listings are informational only. We do not:
- Employ tutors or act as their agent.
- Verify credentials, qualifications, teaching experience, or background checks.
- Guarantee results, quality of teaching, or accuracy of information in listings.
- Endorse, recommend, or vouch for any user.
- Mediate disputes, enforce payment agreements, or provide legal recourse.
You are solely responsible for:
- Vetting tutors or students before engaging their services (check reviews, ask for references, verify qualifications).
- Negotiating terms (hourly rate, payment method, meeting location, lesson format, cancellation policy).
- Payment arrangements — All payments occur outside the App (cash, bank transfer, PayPal, etc.). We do not process payments or hold funds.
- Meeting safely — If meeting in person, choose public locations, inform someone of your plans, and trust your instincts.
- Resolving disputes — Any conflicts, breaches of agreement, or issues with tutoring arrangements are between you and the other party. We are not a party to these agreements and have no obligation to mediate or resolve disputes.
Legal relationship: The tutor and student are in a direct contractual relationship with each other. StudenTeam is merely a platform that facilitates introductions; we are not a party to tutoring agreements.
Limitation of liability: See Section 10 for disclaimers regarding tutor interactions.
6.5 Direct messages and scheduling
- Privacy: Direct messages are intended to be visible only to you and the other conversation participant (and to our systems as needed to deliver messages, enforce blocks, and handle abuse reports).
- Reported content: If you or the other participant reports a direct message as inappropriate, app administrators may review the message content to enforce our Terms and take moderation action.
- Legal process: We may be required to disclose direct message content in response to valid legal process (subpoenas, court orders, government requests) where applicable law requires.
- No encryption: Direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted. They are stored in plaintext in our Supabase database with access controls (row-level security).
- File attachments: Files and images you send in direct messages are stored in public storage buckets and may be accessible to anyone with the direct URL. Do not send sensitive documents.
- Blocking: If you block a user, they cannot send you new messages or propose tutor sessions. You can manage blocked users in App settings.
- Scheduling and session proposals: In-app session booking proposals (date/time/rate) do not create a binding contract or guarantee that the lesson will occur. They are coordination tools only. Actual agreements, payment, attendance, and fulfillment are solely between you and the other party outside the App. We do not process payments, enforce attendance, or mediate disputes.
7. Intellectual property
7.1 Our IP
The App (code, design, branding, and original materials excluding your User Content) is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. No license is granted except to use the App as offered.
7.2 Copyright complaints

7.3 Feedback
If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without obligation to you.
8. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services (including Supabase, Apple, and Google). Your use of those services is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation. Grade calculations and organizer outputs are for informational purposes only and are not a substitute for official academic records or institutional guidance.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR PERSONAL INJURY ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS OR TUTORS (INCLUDING VIA MESSAGES OR SCHEDULING).
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ZERO IF YOU PAID NOTHING.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StudenTeam, its operator, and affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the App in violation of these Terms.
- Your User Content.
- Your violation of law or third-party rights.
- Disputes between you and other users (including tutor arrangements).
12. Termination
12.1 By you
You may stop using the App at any time. You may request account deletion as described in the App or by contacting Orikal3107@gmail.com.
12.2 By us
We may suspend or terminate access, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms, creates risk, or is otherwise harmful.
12.3 Effect
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases. Provisions that by nature survive (including IP, disclaimers, limitations, indemnity) remain in effect.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Tel Aviv, Israel.
14. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. We will update the Last Updated date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where practical. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by law.
15. Apple App Store (iOS users)
If you obtained the App through the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:

- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, except as required by Apple's App Store terms.
- In case of failure to conform to a valid warranty, you may notify Apple; Apple may refund the purchase price (if any) subject to Apple's policies. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding the App.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms solely with respect to your acceptance of the above, and Apple may enforce them.
